Grove Lab
Haplofield
How it's built
A map of Eurasia standing up in three dimensions: every dated ancient person is a dot at their find-spot, raised by how long ago they lived. A front comes down through the dates and the field fills, oldest first, from a handful of people 185,000 years ago to 17,540 today.

Everyone here has a date. Watch the record fill, oldest first.

People the front has not reached stay faint, and each person it passes settles to the neutral blue-gray that means present, nothing read.
